Would you believe that this isn't real wood? Wood you, could you?
Getting motivated to start turning a house into a home of your own can be easy to procrastinate on. This door update was so simple and affordable to do, it felt like the appropriate place to start my DIY journey by taking you through the front door!

Seeing other creative DIYer's really hone their individual styles and make things that are actual tangible projects for the everyday person has been a new obsession. So, when I began exploring all the insanely awesome transformations on Angela Roses' Instagram, I knew this was something I could & wanted to do.
I created my own base coat, combining natural-toned acrylics with a Giani Wood Look base coat. Next was taping off all of the windows with surrounding areas that I did not need to make a mess of (I double bordered a lot of the areas so I could work more freely without worrying about touchups) and removing the hardware.
From there it was quite simple, painting the entire door, both sides and edges with my custom toned paint, and followed with the stain coat from the Giani Wood Look kit. I used all of the recommended dry times from the kit and created my own horizontal vs vertical taped sections to separate the stain's grain, giving it a look of real wood by pushing the stain strokes in different directions in different areas.

This all took less than $50 dollars to create a fresh look to the entryway.
Now I absolutely adore the fresh look and is the first thing that company & visitors will see. Head over to my Instagram DIY door highlight to see the full transformation.
